It's incredible that this tree can continue to stand after spending blazing summers and windy winters in the Sierra Nevadas. The lightbursts behind the tree are not visible in the original image, but when I converted the picture to black and white, I believe the soul of the tree is still standing proud.
Nature is the greatest artist of all, who occasionally allows us the perfect moment to capture and share her beauty.
